Best quality aftermarket 4th gen headlight units?
Hi guys
The Depo aftermarket projector headlamps that came with my 07 V8 Sport a couple of years ago have died - driver side assembly had a turn signal bulb burn out/break off into assembly + melt the turn signal socket within housing - the passenger side seal has broken down and is super condensed and fogged constantly. Neither of my turn signals currently work (problem).
I rather just replace the entire set for a clean new set.
Will be searching for a non cloudy set of used OEMs but failing that, can anyone recommend the best quality aftermarket options currently on the market?
I’m not after any blacked out housing or halo nonsense - just clean OEM looking projector assemblies that will last a decent amount of time. I have a XenonDepot Philips 4300k HID setup currently installed.
Many thanks
Jon

for aftermarket, good brands are usually tyc and depo, i still pass on those, i spend money on new oem set, its close to 450 out the door. never have to worry about leaking and sun damage again.

Maybe after like 15 years of abuse, but if you coat them when you first get them and take care of them i'm sure they'd last a lot longer than any aftermarkets

I would choose a good used set over a new aftermarket set every time. Every aftermarket headlight I bought it eventually developed condensation inside the housing. But that can be fixed by resealing it with Butyl tape or even silicone.

Yup agreed. Just ordered from my local dealer - they price matched sufficiently against online pricing and came in under the total shipped cost.

no doubt they would/should last a lot longer than aftermarkets.
i recently bought an 08 4runner that was a soccer mom vehicle in great shape & its lights were very foggy & yellowed. cleaned up a lot with mothers wheel polish though.
after searching for 6+ months for the right 4runner to buy & seeing literally over 100, i saw a lot of 4th gens that had faded & foggy headlights at 8-10 years under "normal" care conditions (not coating but not abusing). but thats longer than some will own their 4runners so i guess that can be considered never having to worry about sun damage.

Got a set of TYC-stamped black housing ones from ebay (maybe theyre fake, maybe theyre real).
One is perfect, one leaks. both have a little peeled clear around the outside corner.
I'm looking to replace them and decided I'd try these next: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y5QDM3S
They should arrive tomorrow, and I'm just interested in seeing how they look

Another option would be to buy a used set from a junk yard.

TYC from rockauto or Amazon here:
no leaks so far and they run through 3' deep mud holes every other weekend and downpours and rain, no leaks yet in 6 mos. the fitment lines are perfect too
