That battery is a welcome anomaly in the world of batteries.

Probably available though an OEM channel only for new cars because I haven't seen them either.

For the last few years I've looked and looked online and everywhere for a Panasonic battery and from my research they are no longer available in the USA, but they are still available in Europe, Asia and other parts of the world.

If you want a high quality AGM, and you can wait a month to receive it, there's a group buy on NorthStar (Made in USA) batteries:

**Northstar Battery - Group Buy 9.0**

I've installed 3 Bosch batteries over the last few years. Two in my F250 diesel and one in the 4runner. Still going strong, no issues at all. They can be found at Pep Boys.

Odyssey

I use an Odyssey battery, expensive but supposed to last for at least 10 years. 'm on the 5 & no issues yet, but did need spacer.

I can attest to the crap Toyota batteries.

I have a 7 year battery that’s bad after under 4 years. They refuse to warranty it unless they install it. Cool, they prorate the cost of a new battery but they screw me by making me come back and pay for installation which takes literally 5 minutes every few years. I’ll just buy a NAPA or Costco battery and save money putting it on myself.

I've had this runner for a few years, the vehicle came from Canada. Currently has a Toyota battery, 27F, 850 CCA, pretty beefy. Not sure, but maybe that was better suited to the harsher winters.

Anyway, it still functions, and the harsh cold is already moderating in my neck of the woods. But, I don't know how old it is and it looks prety gnarly, develops corrosion substance on both terminals within a few months.

Costco is out, they don't install. Could check belle Tire. Today the dealership parts guy said they have a 24F, 550 CCA, installed less than 2 bills, quite a bit weaker. I'm def not into the specialty battery thing, don't need to spend that kind of $$.

Any thoughts other than what has already been commented on? Thanks.

Edit to say: Heck, maybe I'll call a Toyota dealership across the border, might have a better product and price...?!

This is interesting. Canadian dealership has a Toyota battery, 84 month, free replacement within two years, 27F, 840 CCA, after conversion, 228 USD, installed.

Need a new battery... but which one?

I just got a 24F size battery, 770 CCA, for $85.00 from Costco.

The Toyota 84 month battery is a scam. No way is anyone seeing that life out of it. Toyota knows it too. So Toyota pro-rates a new battery but charges installation meaning they earned your repeat business under the guise of a deal since they’re covering the battery “under warranty.”

So I got the same size battery with stronger stats (Toyota battery was 650 CCA) for less.

I love Toyota but this is a rather sad scheme to earn repeat business.

I picked up my 04 sport with the original battery! Has 477 CCA and can still start the car but if i let it sit for more then 2 days it died.

Picked up autocraft AGM with 25% off so it was a decent deal. Was gonna get the durcacell from sams club but it was about $20 more and I've already spent alot on this truck!

I'm kept the original battery and im gonna see how long i can make it last outside the car.

Ditto on the Panasonic, that thing was amazing. I tried an Autozone Duralast and only got 4-5 years. This time I went with Costco Interstate (Cold weather) version. Can't beat Costco return policy but I'd give it up for another Panasonic.
There's also a Walmart AGM that was very tempting due to the reserve capacity and warranty.
