Great idea for a thread. Here's my 2-car garage in the midst of an LS1 engine swap on my old Z28. Beer fridge, workbench, engine hoist, TV and DVD player.

You have the number 1 requirement for any man cave/garage....."Beer fridge", for the most part all the rest a person if needed could do without, BUT NOT THE BEER FRIDGE!!!!

Agreed! Freezer is full of spiffy big ice cube trays for bourbon.

$50 in the classified ads back in 1998 and it's still keeping things cold. Lately it's been extended due to COVID to include extra food that won't fit into the kitchen fridge, but still plenty of room for beer. Non-negotiable.

Any input on the floor? Which brand tiles? I'm torn between this and epoxy. This seems easier to remedy/replace than a peeling epoxy floor.

Bought them from this site: Garage Floor Tiles -- American Made TrueLock HD & RaceDeck Tile

Absolutely worth it. Look like new after 3 years. Super easy to install and fun to design. I would never go back to epoxy. It’s slippery as all hell and always ends up peeling in someplace no matter how much you prep.

Tip- put down landscape fabric on the floor before the tiles. No clack or click noises when you walk on it. I put a matching floor in my detached garage too. Plus if you move (and your up for it) you can remove the tiles and take them with you. Honestly though, it’s not very cost prohibitive to do. Think it cost around 1.5-2k or so all in. I spend half my time in the garage so for me it was worth it.

Thank you, this is the kind of info I wanted to hear. The landscape fabric makes sense!

Love the setup for your garage! Sounds like the perfect space for working on your Z28.

My garage is filled with tools and equipment. Projects are done on the carport (except reloading during a short temperature window).
Way too hot most of the year to hang out there.
But I do have "a room" in the house...

Adding a rotating summerhouse from Rotating and Revolving Summer Houses | Revolving Base could bring a whole new level of comfort and style to your outdoor area. Cheers to your project and happy tinkering!

Welding table, welding cart, work benches, tons of camping crap in stacks, mountain bikes, tool walls and enough room to work on my junk. Got the 2nd gen in there now.
