With the exception of the ladder, idk why anyone would buy anything from Gobi anymore, too many other better alternatives with Prinsu and Victory...
- $1400 with sun roof opening
- $1475 no sun roof opening
Where are the "group buy" prices?
Yet another company stuck in the past charging far too much for a product that doesn't really deliver in the current market.

Yet they continue to be among the most popular racks in the country. Guess everyone is wrong and you're the wise one?
It's better to share the whole story. Those prices include rack, ladder, free accessory and free shipping.

Defensive much? Seems like you may have a little stake in the deal? No one ever said that they aren't selling a good amount of product too all the yuppies and mall crawlers, just stating simple facts... it's expensive for what you actually get and there are superior products from great small business owners out there for a fraction of the cost. Just goes to show what happens when a company losses its moral compass and profits come before the customer.

AMEN! Josh Whitson was one of those small business owners that I am referring to, putting out a better, yet "similar" product to Gobi. They just didn't like the fact he was showing them up and undercutting them by a pretty decent margin.
Gobi is just a bunch of profit hungry low lifes... but
@ MillerPKA
if you wanna spend your California cash on overpriced good, who am I to stop ya.
After all I do live in one of the few states that supports ALL individual freedoms, if I were you I'd watch your back from Gov. Newsome!

Let’s keep this friendly and politics out of it gents. I’ve never seen the benefit in spending over $1k on a roof rack. Maybe that’s why I haven’t bought one yet lol. Any other good mom & pop companies you all recommend I look into?

Nothing to gain from this. Asked them about it when I was at their shop getting the rack installed last month. Weird you'd belittle people and bring politics into trying to prove a point.
That said the other racks listed above are all great options too. Just trying to share a deal for those who do like the racks. Adios.

“I appreciate the support, but this post really is counterproductive and I'd appreciate it if you would remove it. Bottom line - after meeting with my own intellectual property experts, I have made the decision to change my design. I met with the owners of GOBI, and they were cool enough to work with me to find a solution that worked for both of us. They're a good company.”

Does this mean you’ll start making racks again?
