Katzkin interior upgrade
Over the last week or so I tried my hand at interior work. I had 0 interior experience going into this. I got a “new” set of katzkin leathers off of eBay for a great price. Decided to switch out my 15 year old cloth interior on my 2004 SR5.
It’s a tedious process, but is doable even by an amateur like myself. This, so far, has been the best $300 I’ve ever spent on this vehicle.
Here are some pics of it installed. Like I said, I’m not a pro, I have to go back with a steamer and try to get some wrinkles out. However, considering these seat covers have been in a box for many years, I think it turned out great. Maybe they will naturally come out in time and with the AZ heat.

I can also see them.
Look pretty good! I think the wrinkles will come out with time as well. Nice color too.

Hmm, I would love to see pics too, and they aren’t showing up for me. Glad to hear that you are happy with your work though!

Tapatalk is the culprit. I’m guessing most of the wrinkles will smooth out no problem.

Interested to see what it looks like in a few weeks after the leather has settled and worked itself in. I inquiried about Katskinz a few months back because my drivers outer seat bolster is torn from the previous owner. I hope they shrink up for you because to me they seem pretty loose.

Looks really wrinkly, but those will eventually smooth themselves out. Try to park you truck in the sun. That will make the leather "shrink" into the seats. I installed Katzkins to my Civic and also paid something like $300. BEST mod I ever did. I did have to get help on the seats as those were a major pain to do and I didn't want to damage the seats.

Quick question. Did you use the hog rings on the seat back cover? There are iirc 5 or 6 on the vertical seam and 2 or 3 in the horizontal seam. If not that will give you the wrinkles you have.

Thanks for the responses.
Leather is definitely not loose. It is hog ringed to the seat in many areas. The katzkin covers are really well made, the hog rings are not optional, if you didn’t use them I don’t think it would work out well.
Some of the leather on my seats is “gathered”, according to the spec sheet that the original customer ordered, so it is softer and designed to be more plush.
All in all I would highly recommend Katzkin leathers.
