Frame broke, worth fixing or make-me-an-offer!

My 04 v8 limited with 277,000 miles needed a timing belt and was leaking ATF due to one of the hard cooling lines had corroded and bulged out. Took it to Laurel Toyota Carmax (tow, see pic below) and while on the lift and changing the oil the tech heard a weird noise.

On the passenger side the frame has rusted out. More rust is on top of the frame as you move towards the front.
Driver's side looked good. The 4R was in Ohio from 04 to 10 when I moved it to MD. 80 mile commute M-F.

Worth fixing?

Rust is not too bad. It's better to get it fixed.

Another vote for fixing it here. After you get it fixed clean up the frame and get a sealer on it. You're going to want to do the inside as well to keep this from getting any worse.

To find out if you have any more spots lurking take a small hammer and tap on your frame all over. Gotta find that stuff and head it off before anything else happens.

There is a v8 runner being parted out in the classifieds here, pretty sure the frame is still available...

I agree that from just looking at the photos the rust area looks like it could be repaired....BUT the OP did also state that there's rust on top of the frame that isn't shown in the photos, no way for us to judge that rust for possible repair and that rust could be much worse....also as many know much of this type rust is also coming from the inside out and there's no way for us to judge just how badly that rust on the inside is, the only way to know for sure is too use a bore scope/snake camera to get a good look inside the frame.

That all being said I'm sorta on the fence on telling the OP that it can be fixed without having more info/photos.

Honestly looks quite fixable for a respected welder. But im surprised to see just those weld points rust, but the rest of the frame looks clean or maybe its just that picture. I live in ontario canada so rust on mine is present although not on the weld points as much, more on the bottom but i have since treated with por-15.

get a quote from a body repair shop to see how much it costs, although it would be quite pricey to get it fixed, its much better than a car payment and the rest of the frame looks solid, although we would need more pictures of it.
