Anyone use the spec overland recovery points with the cbi skid plate? Curious if they are compatible.

Thank you! I welded brackets to r-bar which is metal so it was easy. Took bumper off and unbolted the r-bar and welded it at the bench.

Has anyone used any of these options with remote resi brackets? Mine are sandwiched between the sway bar mounts. I can't see adding another bracket in there. Some of the flat ones look like they might work but hard to tell.
Thanks

If you DM Apex on Instagram or email them Jill will reply immediately. I have these recovery points on my 4th gen and the install was very easy. I haven't used them yet from a recovery standpoint, but it's nice to know and have as backup.

Thanks for the suggestions here, those tie down points look like they could’ve strong enough, but not worth the risk.

I would guess it's because the inside holes aren't chamfered, and instead are hard 90 degree angles, which means they might tear up soft shackles. I'm planning to chamfer the ones I have.

way easier and cheaper to manufacture them without the round over on the inside. just plasma, bend, and ship them out

i think it would be best to have a recovery point attached to the metal bumper. you might have to cut the plastic part of the bumper. very accessible and strong enough.

The cheapest front recovery points I found were SRQ Fabricators for my 4th 4th/5th 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, GX470 Recovery Points
They came unpainted. Coated them with primer and then some rustoleum farm and implement paint. The shackles have a much wider span than the recovery point is wide. After searching for rubber washers for a stupid high price, I decided to buy a $2.50 foot of 1” coolant hose. Cut off two 3/4” length and then halved them to get two spacers per shackle. Coolant hose is reinforced and durable to last 10 years or more. Came out really nice and fits snug so the shackles shouldnt be swinging around, and they sit level as well. Plus, if these get ruined, I have plenty of spares to replace them with. (I used 1” hose because this is the hole size on the recovery points. Otherwise it could get pinched in the hole)
BTW The holes on the recovery points were straight cut, and before painting I used my dremmel with a grinding stone and beveled the shackle holes on both sides.

Is it bad to leave it straight cut? only asking because I already painted them. haha.
