Pulsing noise

Anyone experience a consistent pulsing roar sound on the highway. It seems most obvious around 70 mph. Not tires. It sounds like something in the engine/drive train.

Sounds like wheel bearings or possibly a u-joint

Noise stops when I put it in neutral and doesnt change with lane changes so Im guessing not a bearing.

I’ve read several threads about the tranny “shudder”. If your trans fluid hasn’t ever been changed that may be the cause.

I’m trying to track down a “roar” between 30-40mph currently. I’ve done drivetrain zerk grease, trans fluid flush and fill, new tires, everything but the cv’s are new in the front end but I can’t figure it out. I’ve checked front bearings with the 6/12 and 3/9 tire check and had no play. My sound doesn’t change when turning and it goes away when I let off the throttle or shift to neutral

Sounds like a pinion bearing in the rear differential, when you accelerate it puts load on the bearing, when you decelerate or put it in neutral there's no load on the bearing.
