I looked at the backlit surrounds and none of them really caught my attention however I've always loved the effect of angel eye halos. They look slick and with two different sizes it should provide a neat look.
I keep going back and forth on the paint scheme. I feel like if leave some chrome in detail areas it might provide a cool effect. Eh oh well. I still have a few days of work before I really get to that stage.

cut the factory bracket more, its ok if its cut up on the side, just make sure during the projector mount, its fully secure to the factory bracket, you can cut the mounting screw holes too.
heres my old retrofit.

I've got a lot of time tomorrow. I have a method for securing everything. Just gotta get in there with the dremel and make the magic happen. After that it's time for prep and paint before doing the final install.
I'm hoping to have these wrapped up by thursday as well as the stereo, aip bypass, skids, back up camera, dash camera, and the reverse polarity and led kit. She's a dd so I'm taking advantage of semi holiday hours lol.

also you need to shave the back of the high beam, you dont have enough threads to put the d2s bulb and holder on.

They aren't really tight yet but I am watching to have enough space.

So it looks like you are indeed going with the Morimotos in the High bucket instead of the low beam mount location - even so, my D2S brackets might help you get a feel for what you need to cut away for the RX350 projectors to mount!
Way more pics on page 11 of my build thread for referencing projector fit. Hope this helps at all!

Definitely checking this out. I had something similar planned but that does give me an idea lol. I figured I wouldn't have a lot left for bracketing but that is a great pic. Hopefully I get some time soon for the lights. The stereo took a lot more of my attention than I thought it would and running the backup camera was a challenge itself. All is good and I'll be finalizing everything including the camera this weekend.

Any updates?
I had a question about the 3.0" projectors in the low beam spot, do they fit with the stock shroud?

They do! It's a little tighter but the rx350 projectors fit pretty well.
A small update. I had to go with another mounting method. The stock shroud was not going to cut the mustard. They're pretty ugly and they take a while to make but it's a rock solid foundation and should keep the projector absolutely in line with the stock aiming point. That leaves the 5.0 as the only guess point for aiming.
I have to find places for all these darn boxes
And this is kind of what they will look like.
More to come. I haven't been getting as much time as I'd like for truck stuff especially tedious projects like this. Really want to get these done by the 4th.

Been meaning to update this thread. Lots of work has been done. Getting ready to park the 4runner for a couple days while I check mounting for level and then put everything together for final fitment.
Lots of electrical support was required on this one. The goal was to make it look as factory as possible so lots of harnesses were created and extended to make this possible. Also since I am running a dual HID I had to make a custom harness for providing oem input to the ballasts and hi/low switching.
On the headlights side I ended up adding enough led lights that I couldn't find a mounting spot on the headlights that would allow for powering them all without making an absolute cluster of connections. I used a pair of electronic project boxes and wire glands to make everything nice and neat with only one connector in use. Denso connectors for the win!
I also added in an antiflicker harness so I don't imitate the jeeps on the road.
Getting very close to tying permanently into the vehicle harness and getting this project in the history books.
Below are pictures of the various harnesses

Well one of the lights broke while installing so it was a few steps back but I managed to finish a light today anyway.
At least I had an extra set of lights that I had been using on the 4runner.
And yes those are spot welds on the projector. It was the only way I could secure the bracket to the projector and make it all work.
