Which lift to go with?

Hey guys I am currently debating on which lift to go with. I was looking at the Daystar 2.5" lift spacer kit. The rig is currently sitting on 265/70/17 Duratracs and the front wheel well isn't as spaced out as I'd like it to be. Don't know if I should just go with a 3" or maybe even FJ Coils. Anyone have any pictures w this tire set up? Got a quote for a 3" lift and alignment for 840$. Don't think I'll be taking it there. Thoughts and comments would be much appreciated.

Personally I am not a fan of spacer lifts… nor I am fan of lifting the truck too high at the cost of droop and handling.

2-2.5” would be a good balance unless you actually NEED the ground clearance and off-road. 1.75-2” if it’s a street truck. Too high and you need control arms for caster/alignment.

I would rather just stick with something like a 5100, it’s a good option for most who want a basic lift. That said, I really do love my 6112.

None of this will do anything for your tire offset/backspacing. You either need different rims or spacers if you want to increase track width.

Agree with all the above.

Depends on the reason you're lifting. If your primary concern is wanting a wider stance then you need different wheel rims or a spacer, however, that is going to change the geometry of your suspension and you'll likely rub the fender with turning and hence that is why people lift.

If you just want a lift for cosmetics a body lift is a fine, cheap option

If you're off roading or struts/ shocks are due to be replaced bilstein 5100 and Dobinsons are economical/ solid and go to options for many on here.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with a simple lift. No more than 2 inches. Probably just one in the rear. Do the alignment specifications change a bit even with a small lift?

I, too, am looking to gain just a couple inches in my 2007 RWD V6. I don’t take it off-road, but I’d love the ability to hop over some inconvenient curbs in local parking lots without risking some small scratches.

Will the cheap $100 or $200 spacers from eBay do the trick? Anything I should be aware of?

but not to the point were that change cant be corrected in the alignment. Id suggest a complete 2" dobinson lift.
