LED replacements for clock light?

I need to replace - again! - one of the lights behind the center console clock. Lots of threads here on doing that, but is there an aftermarket LED replacement for the OEM incandescent type bulb? I see lots of LEDs that seem to have the right base (and they seem to be much cheaper than the standard incandescent) but I'm not sure they're the right size/length (or voltage, for that matter).

Does anyone know of an LED replacement for these lights?

Thanks,

KJ

I curious too. I replaced mine with some custom ones that I made, but they are a little too large and don't fit well.

The biggest problem with the ones you can buy online isn't the size, but rather the voltage. Most online are 12v but the clock (multi display) runs on 6v I believe. There was someone selling those for a while, but they've been out of stock forever.

Don't bother, save your time

Don't bother! Go to ebay and just get a couple bulbs for $10/$11 with shipping and be done with. I spend hours trying to retrofit 6v LED diodes on to the old base and didn't have much luck. If you bought the NEOs say 5-9 years ago then they would light up as they would work with 6 volts. I bought bags of different diodes on amazon trying to get it to work and when they didn't I gave up.

TOO much FU**EN time wasted on 2 stupid bulbs. I have better use of my time like replace my rear brake pads and rotors.

Good luck if you want to spend the hours that you're never going to get back. I wasn't interested in rewiring my inner dash for 2 stupid bulbs.

can you sense my bottle up anger and frustration

You can see what I did on my thread, my failure :-(

I did mine with Superbrightled as well. no problems until I got the the LCD clock bulbs. superbright are 9-12v range. look carefully. they will work with everything in the car EXCEPT the LCD screen.

the people who got them a few years ago from superbright works great as they worked for 6v. NOT their current batch.

Honestly don't recall because I ordered a whack of them to do other projects but here's how it looks. I did cool white background with blue indicators.
Haven't done the gauge cluster yet. That's next

I'm looking for a source for the LED 6v T4 screen lights as well. Definitely rare...
