How Much Did You Pay For Timing Belt Service?

My 05 V8 Sport is about to hit 200,000 miles and I think now is a good time for another timing belt and water pump service. I was going to do this myself to save money but while I was at the dealership, I randomly asked one of the service guys and he quoted me 599 plus tax for all labor parts and installation of the timing belt and the water pump. I asked him a second time to verify because I thought that was extremely low and he confirmed.

Has anybody had experience getting their belts and water pump replaced at the dealership and how much was the cost?

I’d definitely have them do it for that price. I just had my sons done at an independent shop using Toyota parts and it was around $900. Dealership quoted $1000.

From what I have read on these forums the lowest was around $750 and goes up from there, so if they will stand behind that price and are using OEM parts I would jump on it, I would however pay extra for making sure they replace the idler pulleys and bearings as well!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I wonder if at that price, they are replacing everything or literally just the belt itself and water pump.

I'll check back with them after Thanksgiving and report back.

I paid 1150 at a dealer but that included a new battery and an alignment.

In the same boat at 198K miles. I bought it used but I think it was replaced at 95k miles. I'll check with my local dealership as well.

Similar pricing up here in canada after exchange. Just had mine done a couple of weeks ago, not at the dealership. It was just over $1000 CDN. But other things were wrong when they started, Rad was leaking and the exposed transmission lines were rotting out. I also wanted plugs changed since I was 200,000 kms over suggested interval and was worried, if I did it and couldnt get them out, I might end up cracking the head or something. Total bill after tax was $1800.
