Max Amount of 55W Halogen Lights?

Hey guys, quick question.

I'm wanting to replace my 50" curved LED light bar with 8 KC 55W OR Hella 500 (Im removing the 100W bulbs) halogens. My question is, can the alternator handle that load?

The only threads I could find on this are 3rd gen threads, and they only output 100A while I found in the FSM that our 4th gens output 130A.
-----
Totals: Stock V8 Alternator Output

Amps: 130
Volts: 14.2 unloaded, 13.7 with my radio running, phone plugged in, AC running, and headlights on
Watts: 1,846 unloaded, 1,781 with my junk on
-----
Math and stuff

Each light is 55W. Divide that by 12V (my idle volts are 13.7 with my radio on, phone plugged in, and my 5 LED bumper lights on, but I want to use the common listed 12) and you get 4.58A. Multiply that by the number of lights (8 lights) and you come out with a 36.6A (round up to 37) draw. Right?

IF our vehicles use half of the Amps for base functions, that leaves me 65A to play with. 65A-36.6A= 28.4A left over with ALL 8 lights on. Is this enough??

Numbers are sounding like my checking account after bills

I'll most likely wire 4 lights in series and the other in series as well. Ill have 4 lights on one relay and 4 on the other, but wired to one switch in the cab. I'd use a thicker wire, most likely something along the lines of 14 gauge and in-line fuses post relay.

I know, I'm not racing 4600 class, the mint, or Baja but when we are up in the mountains with the mrs and kids I'd like the "ho-lee-chet" option to light everything up. The light bar is great, but the pattern and frequency are crud, especially when it snows. I'd also like to keep with the round style as our mom cars have round ole bodies, and I have 5x round LED floods on the front bumper.
-----
Notes:

I would buy KC's super nice new Gravity Pro 6, but I'm not made of money.
Resistance should be considered somewhat of a factor with my wire choice, right? Ohms for 1k' of 14g wire is 2.45... not a lot, but still there, so heat may be a slight concern.
Do any of you have a similar setup? Does the Gravity Pro 6 draw as much?
I'd like to stick with halogens, or HID's for their bulb heat- it keeps the snow and ice buildup to a minimum, if not zero.

What say you?

You're going to want to wire the lights in parallel. That way when one burns out the others keep working.

The calculations for current draw would be as resistors in parallel .

You might consider going with LED lightning, that will significantly lower your current draw off the system.

Regarding wire gauge:
Matching Wire Size to Circuit Amperage

Thanks!

I've decided to run the Daylighters, but with LED H3 bulbs or HID's. Im also only going to run 5 total for the system.

Thanks for the link too, that will come in handy on a few items I'm working on!
