options for battery/chargeable ditch, spot, lightbar lights

hey everyone.

does anyone know of some lights that i could take out of my glovebox and magnet to my hood or roof for trail runs? LED small lightbar or something with rechargeable or battery operated? i do not want to use cigg outlet or car battery, just something modular to help light the trails.

if not perhaps ill invent something haha. jp

thanks,
Tom

Have you thought about just a flashlight? There's some very serious candela out there that can also then be used as a handheld.

i might go that route with the magnet flashlights for working around engine bay etc, just wasnt sure if there was something more robust and hands free application.

thanks

What's the real reason you're looking for something non-permanent? Is it concern of theft, or just the convenience of not running wiring/switches?

the latter...i would only need this for nighttime trail ride and dont want to spend a lot of time on something permanent yet. i also live in a harsh wheeling area. wet, mud, snow very regularly and i know it costs $$ to be truly waterproof.

Honestly, running wiring/switches isn't that bad. I'd consider an option like an S Pod where it's all contained and you don't have to run individual wiring for each switch.

You could also just create some quick connects in the engine bay, or in the back tapped from the cig lighter and put all the lights on magnet/suction bases and just plug it in under the hood when you mount it and be done. Pop the hood, one plug, stick the magnet and you're done.
