Center Channel Speaker
I've been searching and have been unsuccessful in finding the last number for this speaker. It is blown and there are no aftermarket parts so I would like to go oem. Anyone have a part number or know if this is interchangeable with other Toyota parts? Thanks in advance
Update did a search on dash speaker and found s little more. Some are saying dash speaker and front tweeters are the same. They may have differ t part numbers so are they plug and play?

Same speaker as the tweeters in the doors.
It's just for dialogue anyway so any speaker of similar size will do.

Do you know if I order a side speaker of the brackets will fit? Is it possible to remove the speaker from the bracket and replace with aftermarket? A bit of a noob to electronics.....although I did have to replace the sub last week

I don't recall 100%.
I removed mine altogether when I upgraded the system.
No more center channel.
There's a lot of space under that grille though.

Thanks, was thinking of just ordering one off eBay (it was $15 compared to the $60) for a center one
Is that the tacotunes bracket?

You could also use a 3.5" coaxial speaker in there as well. Just check on the depth and find one to match. This would give you a much better sound field than just a tweeter. This location is full range sound, not just highs.

Is there a way to replace this speaker from the top without having to remove the dash? I just took off the top grill and unscrewed the speaker and it looks a little tricky to get to. Is there a tutorial I'm missing?
Thanks fellas

If I remember correctly, I think you can pop it out from the top with a pry tool.

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread but I thought it would be best to keep all this specific knowledge together for future searchers.
My speaker just blew yesterday. Are there any hints to popping that grill off the center speaker? I tried to get something under there to pry but it didn't give right away so I thought I should make sure there wasn't a clip or something before I broke it

I just replaced the speaker grill on mine. There are 4 clips holding it in place. You can kinda see the rectangular holes in the blurry Photobucket pics above. Those are where the clips go. Haven't tried removing it since I just installed it but at least you know where the clips are located now.

Dumb question: Even if the failed speaker is a JBL? I thought I remember reading somewhere that the JBL Speakers are unusually low impedance and don't play well with mixed types. (I know a lot of big words but don't really fully understand how it all works)
Or is that just for the main larger speakers in the door?
