Sounds like something is up, shouldn't have to wait that long for it to boot up.

Take a look here for a HU firmware update:
https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/P...port/Downloads

Check for an update on the Maestro unit too.

FWIW, even though I bought the stuff new, there were updates for both the HU and the Maestro...

Good luck!

I appreciate it, I'll see if I can give it a try tonight! Also I think I bought the wrong kit to fill in the empty slots on the sides.

Dumb question, maybe, but have you confirmed it has good power and ground?

No question is a dumb question! Where would the ground be? I'd like to check.

It'd be the black wire coming out of the back of the H/U. It can either be run back to the chassis ground via the wiring harness or you can find a grounding location near the H/U behind the dash.

Did you buy the pioneer or the maestro or both from your friend? The maestro module will need to be flashed to your 4th gen.
You won’t have to do anything to the radio itself.

Also it’s normal to have a plug or two left over.

was there ever an update/solution to this? curious to see the installed photos. looking at installing a Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX and I wanted to see how the maestro is working out for you.

Sorry for the super super late reply. I never got it to work. I still have it in a box just sitting there. I am looking to resurrect this thread and try the install again. Thinking of picking up a different harness to give it another shot:
