Hi lift tube mount on stock roof side rails
I’ve been trying to get a good secure mounting solution for my 60” hi lift jack on my stock roof rack.
I came across this
Adjustable Tube Mount | Hi-Lift Jack Co.
And I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it and whether it would work on the stock 4Runner roof rack side rails(not the cross bar but the actual sides ) and would the sides be strong enough to hold that securely?

I see no real reason why it wouldn’t work. Report back with your results!

So for those who want to mount a high lift securely and easily to a stock roof rack these small size hi lift tube mounts work perfectly! I mounted mine angled slightly outside, you could go inside if you remove the oem cross bars. I also got the handle keeper but there’s still considerable rattle with it so I just threw a zip tie in as well and that eliminated the rattle as far as I can tell!
I will be ordering a lock for the hi lift mount now that I know they fit without a problem

So how hard is it to hoist that sucker up and down off the rack? I considered this as an option, but my hi-lift brand jack is an older heavier model and I just have visions of A) eating shit trying to get it up there after use on snowy terrain when I needed it last, or B) slipping on the same snowy terrain and wiping out a door panel or a window. Thoughts?

I have it positioned so that I can stand inside the rear door and put a foot on my tire if I have to but essentially I use the front as a pivot and take the heavy back off first and then when the back is clear of doors and windows I take off the front and let it in a controlled slide to the ground
Edit: I spend a fair amount of time in the gym so with my 60” Jack it’s a one arm deal to lift it up and down vertically and my second hand only controls it from swinging when I pivot it

@ Dirtrider216
Just found your thread here. You confirmed what I had pictured in my head for fitment on our racks. Thank You!! I have a set of these arriving tomorrow, did you find a suitable locking device?

I just threw a cable bike lock around the roof rack and jack as a theft deterrent. Since the car is lifted and I dont have running boards you would have to either be very tall or very strong or put yourself in a suspicious looking situation to try to take the jack. I have to stand inside the rear door with 1 foot on the back tire to take it off, so trying to do it from outside the vehicle would not be easy or pleasant.

5 minute install, built pretty solid.

If you notice any heavy rattling, one of the climbing pins on the hook portion of the jack is probably extended down and touching your roof rack, cycling the handle should move that. I also had light rattling that i solved by throwing a tarp strap i think either 8" or 11" around the rack, and the moving portion of the jack and that essentially cleared up all my noise
