Radio interchangeable

I have a 03 with the JBL radio system. CD player is not working, cd's are stuck inside. Will a radio from a 06 work?
Thanks

The 06 if it's also a JBL may or may not work, over the course of the 4th Gens the stereos changed a little bit, look at the model number on the face plate and if they're the same it should work fine, if not then the only way to know is to look at the connectors and if they're identical and the wires are pinned the same then it may work.

I have also read that the casing of the stereos can be removed to access the inside and you maybe able to get the CDs out of your present stereo,. not sure that will cure your issue or just retrieve the CDs.

06-09 jbl radios will work & fit & pretty sure earlier ones will too. easiest way is to check your connectors & match to others shown on ebay.

the main issue with jbl vs non jbl, besides the obvious connectors, is the physical opening in the dash is a different size, so a non jbl wont even fit right.

& you can open it up & get the cds out, theres a couple vids on youtube of how to retrieve them by manually operating the gears to eject the cds.

Radio / Nav swap

New member here. I have a 2005 Limited with the navigation radio. The screen went out but radio and CD player still works fine. I purchased a complete unit from a 2006 wrecked 4runner off ebay. Both are exact with JBL system. Is all I have to do is swap them out, or do I have to have some security programming done??
Thanks in advance.
