Holy crap dude. You've done more in 1 year than most do on their entire period of ownership.

Great looking suspension! did you ever get those headers installed? Were you able to get the passenger side header past the steering shaft?

I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ve been using the rig a lot lately for errands (including a ton of sod today, literally)

I’m hoping I can do it soon. Since I can’t get a hold of someone’s old headers, I need to pull mine, build a jig and straight pipe it. Just got my renewal notice and no smog needed until July 2021!

I’m not sure where I’m at with bumpers. I’ve wanted to build one like the half bumper victory 4x4 makes but more tucked/recessed. I don’t like how theirs comes out and over the bumper.

If I go wild and build a tube or hybrid I’ll definitely put it here.

In case anybody was interested in a cheap or free mod if you have a welder.

I chopped off all the exhaust from the muffler back. Using the stock piping, I welded the stock resonator in place of the muffler and made a side dump in front of the rear wheel.

At the same time, I went from a ko2 to km3 which took me from 84lb to 100lb per wheel, yet, it feels more peppy and it hardly downshifts up big grades in SD. At most it unlocked the torque converter towing my jet ski yesterday.

Overall, no drone, just a clean deep, mean sound when on it and throaty when cruising. I will see what it sounds like once the headers go in and I can get a muffler shop to custom fab me a y pipe(not allowed due to Covid)

Here is a video.

5/12/2020 - I swapped the Dobinson c59-675v to the 677v. They came black so I sprayed them an off the shelf teal. Not an exact match but close. ZLJUANN'S RallyRunner Build Thread-img_4217-jpg

8/29/2020 - I spent a lot of the summer on other projects, namely the POS 2008 f250 that I had.

I added a Rotopax fuelpax to the side of the Rola roof rack. A little extra fuel capacity for the long towing trips.

9/2/2020 - I added some black out headlights from dt Moto on Ebay. I have to say, the quality is great, but you have to use LED bulbs for everything. The wattage rating for the sockets is low.

8/27/2020 - Almost missed this one. Spent some time refreshing all the steering components. It's not glorious work or shiny new mods, but it transformed the feel of the car. I made a write up you can find in my profile about it. All new tie rod ends, rack bushings lubed everything up.

8/31/2020 - She spent a few weeks on 5th gen trd orp wheels/tires while I waited for my new wheel/tire setup to come in. I have to say, it didn't look half bad and they weighed 31lb lighter per corner. Made a huge difference in the MPG and towing department.

ZLJUANN'S RallyRunner Build Thread

9/13/2020 - Finally installed the headers. Instead of hacking up my stock cats, I straight piped the shorties. I used all stainless components. 2.5" pipe to 2.25 reducers to 2.25 flanges. I have to admit that I tried to use flux core stainless welding wire and it boogered it up. I ended up having a friend silicone bronze braze the welds. Not the prettiest end product but ended up working out at least. Definitely do not short cut the welding process. Either TIG or gas MIG weld. Do it right.

I ended up trying 2 different o2 sensor spacers which alone failed, but together, have kept the CEL off for a good week now.

Parts List:

o2 spacers:
No mini cat, small orifice ( use this one in the y pipe)
Amazon.com: O2 Oxygen Sensor Mounting Boss Fitting Bung Accessories Straight Threaded M18 x 1.5 Pack 2 (45mm): Automotive

mini cat type ( use this one in between the other spacer and the o2 sensor)

2.5" pipe

2.5" 63mm Stainless Steel Exhaust Tube Mandrel Straight Pipe 4 Feet T-304 | eBay

2.5 to 2.25 reducers

ADLER SPEED 2.5" ID To 2.25" OD Exhaust Reducer Connector Stainless Steel Pipe | eBay

2.25 flanges
