rear window & key remote
HI:
Just bought my first Toyota, 2007 Limited v6. I can't get the keyless entry button to roll the window up or down. I have tried the inside window control and it works fine. I have also checked to see if the window control on the driver's door is off. The keyless remote just does not work. Any fixes or suggestions?

Make sure you are holding it down until the car beeps and the window rolls all the way down. You cannot roll the window up with the remote.

Thanks for the quick response. When I hold the window button down on the remote I do hear a beep after about a second, but the window does not move.

Hmm. Interesting, it seems like either the setting is turned off or something is wrong. If its a big deal take it to the dealer...

Make sure you don't have all the windows locked out with the driver's side door switch on.

You may have to initialize the power window first, which would also give you one-touch capability for the button on the dash.
1. "Unlock" all of the passenger windows, if you have that button pushed in on the driver's armrest.
2. Press and hold the dash button to lower the rear window completely.
3. Press and hold the dash button to raise the rear window completely.
That should be it.
The lockout button for the passenger windows will not prevent you from lowering the rear window with the remote - it will only stop the button on the dash.

I tried cycling all the windows, including the rear window. No effect. I guess the dealer will have to reprogram the remote. Clearly the dealer did not check the vehicle thoroughly before delivery.

Did you try what is in toto's post? If it beeps when you hold down the remote, then the remote is working and it just needs to be reinitialized.

Figured it out. Thanks for the lead Toto. To re-initialize the window you have to put the rear window down half way and then back up, holding the button in for a few seconds. Taking it down and up alone won't do it.
Thanks for the help.

Sorry about that... that's what I get for thinking I remembered it, rather than going back to the TSB and checking.
The TSB (Back Power Window Initialization, PG021-02) does say that what I posted above is correct except for step 3:
3. Press and hold the dash button to raise the rear window completely, and continue to hold the button for one second.
I'll add that without the rear window being initialized, your rear wiper and rear defroster don't work, either.

Any ideas when the rear window won't re initialize? Tried everything to re program the auto features for the rear window and it won't work also key hole and fob only crack the window a little bit.
