The 2003 V8 has the newer 5 speed transmission and yes it does have a dipstick but it's not the sealed version of the 5 speed and I'm pretty sure using a different fluid than the sealed versions, 2004 and onward V8s and 2005 and onwards V6s have the sealed 5 speed transmission, @xtremewlr so yes you can check your fluid level using the dipstick, you only have a drain plug on your trans pan, all the sealed 5 speeds have a drain plug and a fluid level plug on the bottom of the pan, I would much rather have a dipstick because it's sorta a pain to check the fluid level on the sealed transmission.

Thanks for clarifying. Owner's Manual calls for ATF Type T−IV.

The pre-VVT-i 2UZ have the 4sp. 2005-2009 has the 5sp. The 5sp uses the WS fluid.

Edit: I accidentally clicked like on your post, it's not that I don't like you but your post which is incorrect means I shouldn't of liked it.

You're incorrect, read my post where I quoted you above for the facts, you can then research these facts to convince yourself for future references.

I own a 2004 V8 (pre-VVT-I)with a sealed 5 speed transmission that uses WS fluid.

My mistake, I was thinking of the V6. I guess the “sealed tranny” WS thing only applies to 2004+?

My mistake, I swore I read otherwise but I think they were referring to the V6. You are correct, carry on lol.
