RockAuto $56 Front LCA's, check the ball-joint
Community safety anouncment!
Seems like there has been a few front Lower Control Arm threads popping up recently.
I have had a leaking lower ball joint for a year+, bought some 555 ball joints on a closeout RockAuto was having quite a while back.
Then ended up getting a set of WhiteLine LCA bushings... after the seed was planted by another T4R member, been sitting on them for a bit too.
Then noticed RockAuto has front LCAs for $56, thinking as i am swapping out the bushings/ball-joints, i was not concerned that the bushings are not OEM.
These are UltraPower bagged, appears to be a parts close-out reseller? as far as i can tell.
I believe the Left side is a Beck/Arnley with AC Delco ball-joint. Rust starting on the inside surface, of the LCA.
The ball joint is the wrong size for the LCA and the C-clip is floating above the surface of the LCA, not safe.
Ball-Joint is a Zerk style BJ, it has "BC 0 46" in the top and the boot has #4520192A >>CR<<.
The right side looks like a SPK. As far as pics i can see. Welds look smeared on.
The blue lines are the edge markers. Can see the gap between the C-clip and the LCA is larger than the thickness of the C-clip.
