Bilstein 5100 Lift Kit (Not just shocks)

So I researched the hell out of the Bilstein 5100 lift kit and found very little about experiences with the kit that includes the shocks AND the springs. 10 billion posts about 5100's and Toytec springs and the other common brands but found next to nothing about experiences with the springs that come with the 5100 lift kit. In fact, I don't even know for sure if the springs are made by Bilstein or if they are another brand added to make a kit.
Anyway, my experiences are just most others, I love the kit, looks awesome and drives better than stock. Not bouncy or rough but stiff enough not to turn to mush over bumps, potholes, etc. Steering feels much better (though I did add new mounting kits to the front.) I will be adding 1.5 inch wheel spacers soon as it looks a little skinny.

I made this post because I wanted future users to have a thread to searchand find a review and see pics of the exact 5100 KIT and not just shocks with other brand springs. One package, one price, one retailer. The kit is currently on sale at Bilstein website for $516 which is by far the best deal I found for 5100 shocks and springs.

Here's some pics. Taken 15 minutes after install and with an empty gas tank so the rear is lifted more than it is now. The rear settled in now and lowered to less of a rake, but still a rake, which is what I wanted.

I forgot to add that the adjustable lift in the front is set to maximum height.

2.5" lift in front. I won't be getting special UCA's or anything else unless I see a need to. I'm taking for an alignment next week.

Im just like you ive searched far and wide for reviews or info on these rear coils. I also ordered the kit online at the website. Its a incredible deal when you factor in how much they cost minus the price of a set of 4 bilstein 5100. $510 for the kit ( price went up to $549) and the 4 bilstein 5100 cost $383 on the site. Thats 127$ extra for coils. From what i see emu 895 and 895e on the same site are $187 for the pair. Here is where it gets interesting the b12(special) coil which is the one included in the kit cost $208 for the pair on the bilsteinlifts.com site. Im getting all the prices from the same site to compare apples to apples. I also notice they make the coil in a 1.8 and 2.3 yet the emu 895 and 895e advertise 1.5 and 2.0. From what I notice when people level out their 4 runners there's a slight negative rake or its dead on. So can that .3 extra in this coil compensate for that negative rake or that dead on rake where the slightest of weight throws it off?
Im just speculating here. I looked everywhere on this site and no one talks about these coils. Do you have any pics of the car now with coils settled. I might end up buying front coils after seeing your pics. I really didn't want to take my bilsteins up to 2.5 setting. Not to mention i feel like my front coils are probably sagging since my front struts probably been blown out for sometime.

Bumping this thread to see if you have any updates to share. Looking to do similar type of lift and had same questions about the bilsteinlifts.com lift kits.

Have things settled down to be more level? Is the drive still solid even with no UCA changes and the 5100's maxed out in front to 2.5"? What about a differential drop, did you do that to help level the axles out?

Thanks!

I just completed the Bilsteinlifts.com 5100 2.5” front lift / leveling kit on my 2007 4th gen V8 4Runner. ($400) I set them at 2.5” and ended up with no increase in the rear (No rear lift is included in this kit) and right around 2 inches in the front, giving me a reverse (front nose) rake of about 1/2” after things have settled down now and the rig has driven a 1,000 miles and taken a few off-road trips. I have mounted a RTT and it is level at the tent now. I intend to replace the rear springs though so that when I get the winch mounted it will level things out perfectly once again and give me just a little more clearance in the back. (Still looks like a grocery getter.)
The front lift made a tremendous difference in the looks of the rig and pulled the nose up nicely. Looks substantial and I’m not dragging it in snow drifts and over rocks. I was worried initially that I’d need an alignment, but everything has checked out nicely. No other work required.
However, do your research and watch all the vids before tackling this job. I tried to take the shortcut of NOT removing the front sway bars. Cost me time and energy and I had to do it anyways. Internet said 3 hours. Mine took nearly twice that. But overall, very happy with the results. Handles incredibly well in every situation I’ve put it through.

Slight forward rake looks especially better than flat I think. Flat tends to go up a little in the front with any loads, and I always forget to take my tools, golf clubs, bike rack and spare parts outta the back of my daystar "leveled" v6.

I could always just raise the back an extra 1", but I plan on taking the lift out completely once I figure out how to get my seized front lower strut bolt out.
