My 2006 V6 has been in 4H for at least the last 10 years. I occasionally switch back to 2H for a few minutes just to exercise the TC (similarly to how I switch to 4L occasionally). No ill effects, but I'm sure the mileage is slightly worse.

During the rainy season down here in Florida I'll typically leave my V6 in 4Hi all the time since I end up needing it every day for several months at a time. Once the weather starts changing in the late fall I'll switch back to 2wd unless a particular need arises.
