XREAS system functionality with a lift?
Can you install a cheap lift/level and keep the XREAS system? I just purchased my 4runner and it still has a working system, i'd like to keep it stock until the system fails. I am weighing the options for other modifications that can be done without removing the system...
Thanks in advance!

You could spacer lift until it fails.

do it right and avoid spacer lift, its going to cost you twice to replace. even shock only replacement cost 370 in parts. factor in springs which is another 100 to 300. there is bargains in the used market, but check out the condition.

I had this same issue when I bought my 4Runner. I looked at a couple options and after looking at the system I honestly don’t think it is a viable option since the plumbing is 99% likely to break or be too damaged to use by installing a spacer or leveling kit. And you’re going to have to get the lift you want and have to drive a vehicle with 2 shocks bad since, they are connected, while you’re researching and saving it up or waiting for shipment of your new suspension. If you have any questions feel free to ask I ended up going with a Toyota TRD pro suspension. I’m very happy with it and don’t have the headache that xreas gave me.

Well, if you’re a 4th gen, which I thought this thread was in, and your xreas is 10+ years old I’d still say replace. It is possible. ⬆️

So back when I owned my previous 4runner a 07 sport I had the XREAS pulled out, placed stock FJ Coils in it and did 5100 bilstein shocks with an adjustable front to level out the ride. Is that still a decent set up or is there a go to coil? I am not looking for anything to crazy, just something good enough to hold up with mild offroading and the occasional shelf drop if I did get back into offroading.
