I hadn’t thought a single thing of it until I saw a person post elsewhere that a recently replaced spark plug (on a non-Toyota) had loosened after so many miles and caused a big problem.

I also agree that it shouldn't be necessary if installed correctly, I also have never had a spark plug that I installed get loose..ever...but it's your ride and you need to decide to do whatever makes you warm, fuzzy and puts your mind at ease.
