Don't blame the parts when you treat it like that. Have the decency to either move to the habitable zone or get a Walmart bicycle to abuse.
I used Detroit Axle rear suspension (everything except the subframe, which was a junkyard pull, and trailing arms, which I never found at a decent price) on my '02 Focus after OEM replacements failed to correct a camber problem bad enough to eyeball, and Monroe shocks both failed within 500 miles.
DA parts outlasted the head. (In fact, it's still sitting pretty nice on those after a year of waiting for me to get around to finding a new head for it.)
