My parked 07 was rear-ended hard. Possible drivetrain damage?

My car was parked in front of my house when it was struck from behind by a hit and run driver. Damage only appears to be cosmetic, but the force was enough to move my vehicle several feet. Their car must have been absolutely smashed, because they left all sorts of parts behind, like half a bumper and headlight and sorts of debris.

My biggest concern is that there could be damage that is non-visual. How would I know? Can a mechanic run a test to see if your transmission/etc has taken any damage?

Parking break wasn't engaged, my street is totally flat. (stupid me)

If it was hit that hard to move a few feet, it's probably totaled anyway.

Post a photo or two of the damage to your T4R, it would be hard to say without seeing exactly where and how it was hit what the damage could be, also there's no "test" other than a visual inspection and driving it to tell what the possible if any drive train damage was done to it.

Contact your insurance co. Have reputable body shop give you estimate. If frame is damaged, it will most likely be totaled.

If its in running/driveable condition just drive it around and see if you notice anything.

If its not driveable due to damage, put all 4 corners on jack stands and start it, put it in gear and shift through all 4 gears. I would imagine you would want to keep your foot on the brake and maybe just let off a little to see if the tires spin.
