How do you keep things from rolling off the double cargo deck?

Regarding the double decker rear cargo system:

Has anyone figured out a practical way to keep things from rolling/sliding off the upper deck without using the cargo net? I can only think of building a fence of sorts, but want to know if there are other solutions out there or if someone has done this.

I had installed a piece of trim on the deck to keep the decker level to the tailgate. Really pissed me off regularly to have stuff roll out and fall.

Having a Crown Vic total me solved the issue. The 'new' 4runner didn't have the cargo setup.

I removed the Double Decker, Cargo net, + Cargo cover and replaced with Drawers.

SIL has another 06 with the Double Decker still installed. IIRC she built a removable lip out of Flexible Quarter Round Molding and either Industrial Velcro to the top shelf, or high power magnets epoxied to the molding and opposite polarity glued to the underside of the top shelf.

Previous owner of mine screwed in a small board to the edge of the cargo deck.
