Yakima/Thule or Aftermarket Crossbars

Looking to remove my stock crossbars and wanted to replace with some aftermarket that has the ability to possibly put on a RTT, or mount 2 canoes on the top. If anyone has done this, please link me the model you used, or even just the width of the crossbars i should purchase

LFD Off Road makes some sturdy ones. I know @SHagood has them on his rig.

Seconded for the LFD crossbars. The front bar made crazy wind noise at highway speeds—highly recommend spending the extra $40 to get the wind fairing which solved the problem.

I do have them and I am very pleased. I took off the OEM factory cross members and now have 4 LFD steel cross members. I've got a hi-lift, waterport, recovery boards, a shovel, and a 9ft awning mounted to them. I just picked up the wind fairing too.

I looked at the LFD ones. They're probably going to be the best option for a RTT, however I wanted something that extends past the rail for canoes and a rocket box. I found a yakima railgrab system for $80 on craigslist. Figured fro the price I couldn't go wrong. YMMV but I've been happy with them. I also like to remove them when not needed. No road noise when there aren't any crossbars!

Yes what size width are your yakima rail grab crossbars? Im looking because often i need to carry 2 canoes on the top and was looking for extended bars to fit, as for the RTT that may be far down the line as i still have many upgrades to do.

Mine are 52" I think... something like that. For 2 canoes (it depends on the width of the canoes) Probably the 66 or even 72 would be better. They're easy enough to swap out, and I think like $100 for any length. So find a cheap setup and replace if you can. They're easy enough to take off, so I like keeping it simple. I don't need to look like the subaru with kayak racks in January in MN...
