When you say you "rented" a pitman arm puller from Autozone, are you saying you had to pay to use/rent it?

Here where I live most auto part stores loan out tools for free, you do have to put a refundable deposit on the tool until you bring it back.

ah, i guess loan is a better word. I didnt have to pay for it. There was a deposit that was refunded after I returned it.

Another quick question - is that ball joint nut supposed to be set at 45 or 60 ft-lbs? All the JBA install instructions all say 45 and all their videos say 60? Dafuq?

i knew it. I knew is saw 45# somewhere... but then i saw your prev post about 60# so i went and watched the video and it said 60#.

I set mine to 50# (at the time i rememberd 45#) because my torque wrench min is 50#. And i gave it a little extra after that.

I'm sure 50-55# is good...?

JBA UCA post install thoughts - boot not fitting right?

I literally just received my UCA’s today. Seems like it is a known issue, why don’t they just include more washers ? Let me email them now. I’d rather get this done right the first time. I only have one washer per side :-(

I'm honestly surprised they don't ship with 2 washers by now. Then again, without OP i probably wouldn't have checked...

Same here. Received my UCAs last week, still sitting in the garage. Glad I saw this thread, contacted JBA last night and got notification this afternoon that additional washers will be dispatched. Good customer service.

I agreed that added washers should be included going forward. Or revise the boot design.

While they react quickly and said they would send out extra washers, I really don't see that as good customer service when they obviously know that the extra washers are needed because of poor design, IMHO good customer service would be to include the extra washers with every order, at least until they do some kind of redesign to solve the issue!

I'm wondering why even one washer should be needed much less two, IMHO this make it more obvious that they know there's a design issue?

The washer serves as a "seal" for the boot - that's not a bad design in itself but you'd think someone woulda verified the boot seals on the test mule(s).

My washers came super fast. My guess is he will make a thicker washer or ship two sets in the future.

Got the washers in today.

Still hasn't seated (even with the wheels on the ground) yet but I haven't gotten a chance to drive around yet.

Was looking at purchasing some new UCA soon and always favoured JBA, and their red looks hella awesome on a suspension setup. So does the original purchase include any washers at all? because now on their site they are offering washers for sale 2 @ $3.75 so i would need to buy 4 total?

Comes w/2 but you need 4 - make them throw it in when you buy.
