Very good UCA’s, good price, great cus5omer service. Just get the extra set of washers and you’ll be happy.

I haven't done mine yet but I have this feeling that the boot seat needs to be angled along with the added washers. Otherwise you will need to compress it more in order to get it to seat evenly.

Not sure but after driving around today and purposely driving up and over curbs to try to flex the front suspension some they still haven't sealed up all the way. I'll get pictures of the gap remaining tomorrow.

Not exactly sure what to try now - might try putting the front on stands and trying to jack each arm up and see if they seat that way...

That didn't work - jacking at the arm lifts the whole truck up - no compression. Might have to unbolt the shock and jack the LCA up without any resistance. Too lazy right now, shot JBA a text and an email. We'll see what they say (hopefully) Monday.

Like I said on my previous reply you can compress that boot all you want, try 3 washers maybe? The seat needs to be angled to match the angle of the UCA.
Or it needs to be made out of a softer material like an end link boot with flange to capture it.

I'm not sure how long you had your's installed before seeing this topic and getting the washers and then install them...but the OP added the washers in a very short time after his initial install of the control arms so maybe his boots being new rubber made it easier for them to finally seat, so I guess I saying maybe the rubber on your's has harden a bit which makes it harder for them to fully seat.

Had the arms on maybe a month at best before seeing this? I can physically squish them with my hand so I don't think they've hardened up.
JBA still hasn't responded to either my text or email either yet. I did, however, receive an email reminding me to grease my UCAs. lol.

Having the same issue. Spoke with Mr Marlin today. He will be sending the two washers. And, looks like they are getting a better design boot per Mr Marlin. It will take 6 months to a year because all of the things that has been happening. I did not or forgot to ask him if this will be considered a “warranty fix” for our issues. Anyways i still like my JBA HD UCA.

I hope the extra washers work for you, they didn't for me.

Interesting, Marlin replied to my text today saying "They look good, they are a semi-sealed boot, excess grease will come out the top of the boot."
Not the answer I wanted, nor did he mention a boot redesign. Hmmm...odd.

I showed him passenger and driver side. One side had a blub of greasing coming out after driving it around. And regarding the boot, i ask him about what they are planning to do.

Just recently installed these on my Tundra after reading this thread, so I made sure to seat them first before bolting it up, didn't work as it popped off after I let the suspension fully drop. Definitely needs a redesigned boot with an tapered base, but it should still hold the grease where it needs to be.
These are well made uppers with quality ball joints, so I am hoping they offer an improved boot soon.

Was this or without the extra washers?
