Can’t get to spare tire

Did a 1” BL a while back. Got a bolt in a tire tonight. Can’t get spare tire rods to engage the spares lowering mechanism. Can’t feel or see where/how far I’m off. Any advice on how to get the spare down?

You are supposed to remove tire, install body lift, beat a rod guide bracket in with a hammer (whats preventing you from getting to spare right now) then reinstall spare. Unfortunately you'll have to remove your rear bumper cover to get to the spare to remedy the problem.

Once you hammer that bracket it'll work as intended again. I'll post a picture in the morning of said bracket.

Lol, that happened to me a few months ago. For some reason something made me check on the spare a few days after the body lift and I ran into that issue.

You are gonna have to remove the rear bumper, might get away with undoing the bolts of the center part of the rear bumper and folding it up a bit to get to the part you have to break off.

A chisel, a few wacks with a hammer and you are done.

This is the bracket, just a few whacks with a hammer should do it.

Thanks for the help guys. Finally got around to taking care of this. Pretty easy job but I went a few step further which took more time. I wire wheeled the rear cross member of the frame and did a little surface rust repair.

Also snapped a rusty bolt and had to knock the bolt head out of the socket with a screwdriver and hammer. On one hit, the screwdriver shot out like a missile and well... check out the creeper!
