Relocate backup camera around swing out tire carrier?

Searched around for a bit but found nothing.

Has anyone relocated their camera to accommodate an obstruction?

I'm installing a rear bumper with swing-out accessories, so I would imagine the tire and gas cans would totally block the camera.

A new modern head unit with harnesses and camera seems very expensive, although I would prefer that option if I had the funds.

Any thoughts, options, and opinions appreciated.

Thanks!

Dan

I think I remember someone on here mentioning mounting their camera in the rear spoiler. If your runner has the spoiler that might be an option. Should get it above any obstructions.

Did you just relocate the existing OEM camera? Is there enough extra wire to do that?

I mounted mine on the Jerry Can holder. It sits out further than anything else on the rear end which gives me a nice clear view of anything behind me and a good gauge of how close I am
