3rd gen wheels on a 4th gen?

I’ve seen a lot of info on 4th gen wheels on the 3rd gens and I would assume the answer is yes, I can run 3rd gen wheels on my 4th gen but just need some Confirmation! I found a wicked set of 16” jdm wheels that came off. Toyota prado and I know these Will fit a 3rd gen as well... so what do you guys think ? Thanks so much!!!!! Hope everyone is safe out there .!

If your 4th-gen has the larger front brakes you'll be running into caliper clearance issues.

I agree with ed, the bigger brakes will probably not clear 16" wheels.

If you do decide to take a look at the wheels, bring a jack and ask if the seller will let you test fit them on the front. Torque the lug nuts, or snug them the best you can and if they have tires, drive around a parking lot or something. If no tires, give the wheel a few rotations and make sure it doesn't hit the caliper. A test fit will be the best way to determine if they will fit or not, and will prevent you from accidentally buying wheels that don't fit.

will these jdm wheels fit ?

17" to 16" Wheels?

Will 16" Rims fit on a 2004 4runner Sport 4wd

16" wheels on a Limited??

2007 Limited rotor size (will 16 inch wheel fit?)

16" rims larger caliper clearance

I have 3rd gen 16" wheels (from a 2002 Limited) on my 2003 Limited, as seen here: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

No issues with the brakes at all. Only issue I have is a bit of rubbing when I turn sharp, but that's because I put 265/75/R16 tires on. Would be easy to fix the rubbing with a bit of chopping if I cared to do so.

I believe Sport Edition model can't fit 16" wheels because of the larger brakes. If you're trying to put these on a SR5 or Limited you may be able to, but I'm not 100% sure.

Possibly some Limiteds but some others No, my Limited has the larger brakes from the factory.
