Highway high-mileage tires

I have the Daystar 2.5” leveling kit and would like to bump up from 30” to 32-33” tires. My biggest issue is that I do so much highway driving (50,000 miles/year) that I really need longevity. What’s a good large/larger diameter tire with great lifespan?

I have a set of 16” wheels and 17” wheels.

Yokohama Geolander. Very little road noise, great in wet weather, good price.

Are you only looking for lifespan? Changing diameter has the biggest affecting factor in getting worse MPG.

+3 for the Geolandars. Mine are the A/T G015 in 255/75r17. I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift, and I’m very happy with the tire/lift combo. The tires are 32.1” diameter.

Make sure you get a good alignment with your lift. I had a mechanic who said he did an alignment but didn’t, and the front tires got some abnormal wear. Thankfully, I caught it pretty quickly and got a real alignment done.

If they have your size, Michelin Defender LTX are very long lived. I had a pair go 105k on a mostly highway driver. (Caveat: it was over 10 years ago)

I certainly appreciate that but it’s not applicable in my case because I solely use a company gas card (hence, 50k miles per year).

+4 on the Geolanders. Have 60k miles on them, the only reason I'll replace them this fall is snow. Otherwise they'd probably go another 15k.

Great wear, great wet/dry/snow/ice traction. No mpg hit that I'm aware of.

+5 on the Geolanders only for the quality. They were on my T4R when I got it so I'll never know how many miles they are good for but they are smooth, quiet, and they handle well. I'm totally satisfied with them. That said, when I need to replace them I do plan to go to something with an all terrain tread. 80 or more percent of my driving is on road but with us having a place in the NC mountains I do like to get off road occasionally and I want to be prepared. But if I was looking for a highway tire I wouldn't hesitate to get these again.
