Oil pan plug

Hi everyone. Need some help. Purchased my 2009 Toyota 4Runner v6 March this year. Has 89,500. Decided to do my first oil change today. When I took off the oil pan bolt, I did not see a washer come off with it. But then I saw this, looks like a washer. I tried taking it off with a small flat head screwdriver as you can tell from the scratches. But it wouldn't budge. Didn't want to do any further damage... Possible that one wasn't put on, or..... Is that the washer just stuck hard to the pan. I ended up replacing the bolt w/new crush washer. Torqued it to 30lbs pressure. No leaks and runs great! Help?
Thanks
Eddie

That is, in fact, a washer.

Might be...

If the PO stripped out the last oil pan, that might be a Rivnut in there.

My washer was stuck like that too but my flat head worked. Maybe some WD-40?

Mine get stuck on every oil change, but as you mentioned, a little pressure to the lip with a screwdriver and they pop off.

I use a plastic putty knife to lift off these crush washers on my vehicles. $1 at the hardware store, no scratches on the metal.

I highly recommend a Fumoto valve. Problem solved forever and oil changes couldn’t be easier.

If it was me, and it wasn't leaking, I'd call the job done.

100% endorse this comment. $30 and no more buying crush washers. My skid plate has a hole and with the valve, easiest oil changes ever!
