Extensive searching has shown me some horror stories of the 887s giving way more lift than intended on a v6, even with aftermarket bumpers.
Does anyone have experience with 885s and an aftermarket/bumper winch on a v6? Are they sufficient or do I really need a stiffer/taller spring?

I don't have a definitive answer but am looking for a similar amount of lift and debating 884/885s (v6 w/ shrockworks front bumper). There's
more info in this thread on 887s that may help.
IIRC 885s are recommended for a stock-ish v8 or a v6 with an aftermarket front bumper. A guy here runs 884s with 5100s set on the first notch and has the stance I'm after (but his is a 2WD v8 with a DO front bumper vs. my 4WD v6 with a SW bumper). Will eventually run the numbers to calculate properly but am in no rush.
Will be interested to see which route you go and how much lift it gives you.
