I did LCA bushings and made this tutorial here: Whiteline Lower Control Arm Bushing Tutorial (120+ Pictures). After 210k miles (338k km), they weren't really bad, but I figured they needed a refresh. Cams were also seized, so this solved that. Pretty labor intensive, but overall not to difficult. I've only driven like 16 miles on them stuck at home, so can't comment on the ride quite yet. Going on a 240 miles trip this weekend, so I'll have a better idea after then/

I haven't replaced any sway bar hardware, but I think the bushings and links are pretty inexpensive. I've heard if the links failt, they can fall and damage the CV boots, so might as well replace while down there.

Going through this right now. 2007 'Runner with 230K on the OD. My LCA bushings were squeaking loudly on dirt roads - they're shot. The XREAS system is leaking all over the place. I decided to go with aftermarket and do a lift instead of replacing the XREAS, so that lead me down the rabbit hole that comes with lifting it.

I went with Fox 2.5 coil-overs up front with Camburg UCAs; replaced the LCAs and lower balls joints. Sway bar will need to be done soon. CV joints are both seeping and will need to be done, especially after the lift. For the rear, I went with OME (895s) springs and Fox 2.0 shocks.

I'm not doing the work - I don't have the time or patience - but it was supposed to be done today. The cam adjustment bolts were seized so they had to torch them off (see "don't have the time or patience" reference). New bolts will be in tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will be ready to send over to the shop for alignment before noon.

From everything I read, stay away from cheap LCA's. I found Toyota LCA's for less than $600 shipped and didn't mind since I had 290k on the originals. UCA's I used 20k takeoffs for $100 delivered from a 17 TRD pro and got all new OEM hardware, wasn't cheap, but was only thing left of my suspension that hadn't been replaced. In a few years when my tires are getting replaced/larger I'll look into good UCA's then. Tires stopped rubbing when I got TRD wheels with different offset.

i just did suspension upgrade on my 2007. along with the new front/rear shocks/springs, i also went with new SPC UCA's. the only other things i changed out were new top mounts for the front struts, and new sway bar bushings. i also just ordered a new set of engine splash guards since the original factory ones disintegrated when taking them off to install the UCA's.
