Intermittent Headlight Issue.

About four weeks ago I started experiencing an intermittent issue with one of my headlights. I noticed my passenger low beam headlight was out.

I found that if I twist the bulb housing a quarter of a turn and start to pull the light out (as if to replace it) it will instantly turn on. Then I can twist it back into place and it will work again. I have had to do this twice so far on the passenger side.

Now yesterday the issue moved to the driver side headlight. Same problem and same fix but now the other side. So far both lights have not been out at the same time. Turning the lights on and off with the switch doesn't seem to help the issue either. Any ideas?

I have searched for forums but didn't find anything.
This is a 2008 SR5 4runner.

you need to replace both bulbs, they are h11 in size, the filimant on the current bulbs is giving up its age, causing loose connection inside, if u take the bulb out you can see what im trying to say.

Thanks for the suggestion. I replaced both bulbs so hopefully no more issues.

I'm having the same issue with my passenger side low-beam. After I turn off the truck it goes out till I wiggle it again.

I've been wanting to upgrade to HID's so this might be the perfect time

Similar issue with passenger low beam

2008 4runner

I upgraded to HID lights about 8 years ago. the passenger side has had issues on and off through the last 8 years no issues with the other low beam, high beams r fog lights. Sometimes the passenger low beam does not come on. I have replaced the bulb and the ballast for it 4 times. I just replaced it about a month back it worked great for about a month. Now sometimes when I turn on the lights it comes on sometimes it does not. sometimes turning the light son and off a couple of times will cause it to come on. All the other HID bulbs and ballast i am am using are the original ones. Any idea what may me causing this intermittent issue?

could be a weak connection, check the wires at the plugs, use a relay harness, check the fuse box, could be a weak fuse too.
