Where are you seeing a different rpm at speed? At steady state or on the way up as in accelerating?

Someone who understands automatic trans/torque converter/lockup in conjunction with increase in engine torque will have to step in on this one.

I think it's more that the drive train can hold the speed with less effort rather than significantly lowering the RPM's. Is it maybe a bit of placebo too? I'd say yes lol. It is a nice improvement though, definitely noticeable.

Yes, I would think more able to maintain say 65mph up a small grade, whereas before maybe not. It's called reserve power, power available at a certain road speed that is more than enough to maintain that speed, such that when you encounter a slight grade that requires more power, it's available and the road speed is maintained through that grade w/o a change in rpm.

I am the guy that is making/selling them over on TacomaWorld

Currently I am in fact doing these in batches of 10 or more until there is no longer demand for them. I've sold several hundred sets so far and try very hard to make sure I am available for people during install that might have questions or concerns. As seen over on the TW sale page- There are no bad reviews (at the time of writing this) and I can honestly say these are one of the best bangs for the $$

I started making these because they were kind of a mystery/black magic item that was sold by APR back in the day and then they were only sold by URD with the UCON tuning system (~$1400)
Then a bunch of us got together and hired a machine shop to make these but they screwed us and made them all incorrectly (no money back either). I stepped up to the plate thinking I would only be making about 40 sets of these back in the day. I have all the machining tools to cut a very precise keyway so made a jig and got to work. The accuracy to which I am cutting these is down to 0.001" of depth of cut and 0.1 MOA it terms of matching the 3° angle repeatedly.
In other words this is more variation in the gear itself than there is in the re-machining of the gear.

The original 40 sets were such a success that I decided to continue production. Who doesn't want more useable power with better gas mileage after all.

Happy to answer any and all questions,
Sorry for the rambling.

Honstly I'm surprised no one has done this sooner. Ive had more than a few imports and adjustable cam gears are so normal even th cheap ebay ones are pretty good (for the honda b series they were anyways).

No one should question this method really, its a tried and true way of method that was just overlooked on these engines till now. Good job !

Planning to install Mightytacomaman's cam gears this Sat and wanted to post this for anyone that is going to do same upgrade.

Apparently cam gear bolts are a pain to loosen/torque due to clearance between cam bolt and engine head, so socket won't fit therefore I have to purchase torque adapter to torque bolts after installing new gears. Like this one.

I used that wrench, made it super easy. If you use it at 90° on your torque wrench, no adjustment necessary.
