BMC + SPC upper's and 285/70 r17 tires? Still rubbing off road?
Hey guys getting ready to add 285/70 r17 BFG KO's (load c) to my truck with 17" trail wheels, SPC UCA's and 2.5" lift.
Wondering for those of you who have a similar setup do you still rub when flexing off road? Or is rubbing eliminated?

You should have no issues with that setup. Just set the UCA's a little further from the firewall and get a good alignment.

Looking at a similar setup myself. Anyone know if a BMC is needed with the Trail Wheels (15mm offset)?

With the 285/70's you will likely rub off road on the body mount when articulating. Better off doing it, pretty painless.

Thanks for the responses guys. So montigo-- you don't see rubbing offroad after BMC? Good to hear!
Seatowner, check back in a few weeks. I am running those exact wheels as well and can update (though i belive montigo on his comment so planning on it).

My setup is quite a bit different now. But before, I had 285/70 mudders, 17x9 -6 wheels BMC with the SPC and no rubbing at all.

Wheels must be 0 offset or the tires will rub off road. There is no solution with stock wheels even with bmc. 1.5" body lift is also required in addition to 0 offset wheels.
Lots of stuff works on the street, offroad is quite different.

Guess I'm magic - I'm running -16.75 offset and 295/70R17 MTs and no body lift with no rub. I'm BMC'd now but there was only a feather rub before that. I've measured and I still won't need a body lift when I move to 315s.
Alignment is key. For maximum rearboard clearance, set your rear cam bolts outboard and front cam bolts inboard for maximum caster from the LCA. Set your SPC UCAs at the default "D" (+2) setting and adjust for camber.
If you lack clearance still somehow - move the spindle forward with the SPCs by moving them to the "E-G" settings. This will take off some positive caster but increase your space out back.

I am running 315/70/17 with an aggressive body mount chop, 3.5 and 4 degree's of caster and don't rub full lock both ways on the body mount chop. A body lift isn't going to do anything for rubbing on the body mount. Alignment and wheel''s are key. I am running SCS wheels with -10mm offset.

Lock to lock is not what I am talking about and has nothing to do with going off road. You must be referring to what you can do on road. There is no way that you can turn 315's to full lock with the suspension fully compressed. If you think you can... you can't. This is mathematically impossible. The body lift is what helps off road when the suspension is fully compressed, the tire will rub on all sides of the fender and the frame, hence the 0 offset requirement and moving the body away from the tire.
Pics or it didn't happen.

Hey Seatowner -- Just got my tires installed.
Specs
King 2.5" lift
SPC UCA's
dobinsons lift springs in rear
285/70 r17 BF Goodrich Load C K02's
After install i had some rub on the front. Had to relocate inner fenders liners and cut the front mudflaps. Also found at full lock the driver side tire hit the swaybar so may get spacers but only at full lock so we will see. Nothing to the rear yet. I will prob have to do some trimming/ adjustment after offroading it though. So far i don't see it getting close to needing a BMC (hoping alignment helped) but we will see after i take it out a few times. Pictures below.

So you are contacting the swaybar in the driveway? Most likely you won't even be able to drive that off road at all, and if you do it will be super dangerous. I can already see a sharp turn where the swaybar completely stops the front tire and the entire truck flips over. Please don't die.

Appreciate the concern for sure. It touches the sway bar at full lock when turned toward passenger side I believe. Already looking into (quality) spacers but it’s not rubbing while just sitting on driveway.

Update — took it off road today and under heavy articulation, the tire hits the spc uca. So with the sway bar and that issues I’m betting some 1.25 inch spidertrax and will see how that goes. Guessing more trimming will be needed ha!
