Does a failing CV sound like failing bearing?

2005 v6 4x4.
I have a hummm. Same hmmmm on accel and decel but not left and right.

I have replaced the front right bearing twice in 2 days thinking I messed up the first bearing replacement.

I replaced the right rear today because the noise goes away when you veer right. The left was replaced when I bought the car with a similar symptom 2 years ago but opposite.

The differential is 100% new as of 1 month ago.

Sure the car has 190k on it so I don't feel too bad replacing parts that need it, but dang.

Can it be the front right CV? Or somehow the differential unweighting and making less noise as the right rear would be the primary drive wheel?

Thanks!

I still have the first front wheel bearing I installed and might just update the front left on to narrow it down even farther, and would give me 4 new corners, but the direction of my steering didn't imply it would be the left.

If you steer right and the noise goes away, it's the left.

Yeah, that's what's happening. So more weight on the bearing quiets it down or changes the geometry enough to quiet it. I'll stick my spare hub in there tomorrow morning. I'm down to 1.5 hours in and out now. Lol

wheel bearing

I have a similar hummmm. does yours sound like this as well?

VIDEO

Mine I fairly found when I go straight or turn right. If I veer to the left it will stop so I am assuming its my front right as that seems to be where the sound is the loudest as well.

That's it. Mine isn't that bad at 70 yet. I just noticed it last week. So likely it could be the front or rear because when I swore my front left was bad when I purchased it, the dealer replaced the rear left. It is a little more of a pain due to the emergency brake springs and having to take the axle to a shop to press out the bearing.

Good time, after doing it so many times I'm not surprised. Yes when the weight shifts on to the bad bearing it quiets down. It starts off as a hum and then gets louder until you can feel it in the steering wheel/foot well.

Ok, for sure it was my left front making the noise.
Took it off this morning and it sounded like an old metal rollerskate. Now I just have to wait for NAPA to call back because they gave me the hub to bearing seal instead of the driveshaft to hub seal.
