Took my Rigd Ultraswing apart. Making a bracket to hold the hilift I bought a couple months ago.

The Rago molle panel is such a pain to put on/take off I'm probably gonna leave it off and sell it. I'm making the bracket for the jack and I'll make something for the fold down table in place of the molle.

How do you like your swing out? What made you decide to go that route instead of a plate bumper? Do you think you made the right or wrong decision? Thanks.

I like it for what it is. Some days I feel like a bumper is still in order for better clearance, more features/add ons. Nonetheless, this does the job pretty well. Nicely built, doesn't rattle at all that I can tell.

Finally had a few hours to make some progress. Pretty much done, except I used 16ga stock and it seems a bit wobbly. I'm gonna add some gussets where the sharpie line is on the last pic to make it a bit sturdier. If that doesn't convince me, I'll make another out of thicker material.

I sandwiched the bracket between the tire carrier and the ultraswing. Seems like it'll work out nice. Yes I know I botched the holes a bit, nobody will see it so who cares lol.

Added gussets, should be fine, wobbles a bit if I grab the jack and shake back and forth. V2 will be thicker material. I like where it sits though.

Surprise mod. Found someone local selling a Meso Customs V2 dual brightness dome light. Its meant for the 5th gen 4R, 2nd gen Taco but fits perfect in the 4th gen. Highly recommend!

Nice build! I particularly enjoyed the choice of Sam Adams.

Hey, what’s your plan for the Satoshi grille mod? I can’t seem to find aftermarket options, so was thinking of taking the DIY approach. Would like to hear your progress with this particular mod.

So I've had it for quite a while now. Not very hard but a huge pain to get done nice. I used a Dremel to cut out the inside black portion and then ordered a kit from customcargrills that has pre-bent mesh and the TRD logo. Mesh fit nice only needed a trim in one corner with some tin snips.

I used epoxy rather than the stuff in the video and after all said and done I should have used the other stuff. This video makes it seem really easy but it's actually quite challenging to get the filled in side portions looking that good. Mine isn't perfect but since it's black you have to put your face right up to it to notice.

This is awesome! I put some LED boards in mine, but they kept getting too hot and melting my solder joints (because they weren't designed for what I was using them for).

I've been following Meso and waiting for them to come out with 4th Gen stuff, I'll have to scoop one up when they're back in stock!

Would you be able to take a picture of your rear view mirror view with the tire rack? I've been looking to add a swingout to re-gain trunk space since I carry around my spare right now (32", and my spare tire mechanism is trashed because of rust). My only concern is being able to see out of the back well enough.

I sure will, but it's surprisingly less bothersome than I expected. Doesn't really block the view at all, in my opinion.

Just the way it attaches. You have to fish the nuts through the holes in the molle and just kind of a pain to line up. Kinda hard to get the wrench on the nuts to tighten once they're started too. I dunno, I'll try to put it back on for the time being, maybe I won't have to mess with it anymore.

Also the last time I tried putting the tire carrier in the top position the plate prevented it. I'll see if I can figure it out.

@JVC8790 here you go. I have it at the highest option. The nice thing about this Rigd Ultraswing is it has different height settings for the tire carrier.

That looks good! I was thinking it would block a lot more! The only thing I would have to figure out is moving my back up camera because it would be blocked by the tire carrier.
