Ok, I’m the morning and with a fresh mindset it wasn’t that hard after all lol. One down, one to go. Should button it up tomorrow before work and then get the nitrogen done. Hopefully reinstalled by Thursday.

I’d say on a difficulty level, it’s really not bad. Just takes some patience and the right tools. I used this thread and a lot of the tips were spot on for some things.

Great White Pig build/maintenance/no one cares thread.

All done and charged with nitrogen. Just waiting on a set of misalignment spacers for the top hat for one coil over that I fudged because it wouldn’t come off. Overall not a bad job at all. Next time it’ll be even easier. And by next time I mean next week that I have to rebuild my rear resi shocks fml.

And of course I found a split spindle side cv boot on the driver side.

Done! Replacing the CV took about 30 minutes since I already had it on stands and sort of taken apart. Thankfully I had a spare with a good boot. I’ll reboot the shit one with a 5th Gen kit this time, this thing eats the 4th Gen OEM boots about once a year.

The ride is night and day. I converted to extended travel during the rebuild and swapped in 14” 700lb springs. Before I was blowing through the travel on pot holes because I had tons of preload. Less body roll too with the stiffer springs since I have no sway bar. Definitely a good upgrade.

Look at the difference in preload from before to now with the stiffer springs. Great White Pig build/maintenance/no one cares thread.-img_2680-jpg

Took her off the beaten path. Rides so much better off-road with the stiffer springs. I was constantly blowing through the travel with the preload I had before. Great White Pig build/maintenance/no one cares thread.-img_2767-jpg

Put new tires on the ol girl. Went with 255/80r17 Toyo ATIII. Looks better than I hoped and drives much better. Feels lighter and gets up to speed easier.

What backspacing do you have on the rims if you don’t mind me asking?
Answered my question by reading your post #1. Looks good man!

Ol' girl got some maintenance tonight. Oil change (Fumoto valve is a life saver), new spark plugs, new serpentine belt (old one was cracked and starting to make some noise, and new rear brakes.

Let me tell you, the rear rotors are a major pain to take off. I didn't prepare and have the M8x1.25 bolts to help with removing them. Next time I will for sure. I had to beat them off with a 4x4 block of wood and a 3 pound sledge. And yes I backed off the parking brakes before trying to get them off. I'm sure the bolts to push the rotor away from the bearing would have helped immensely.

Anyway she's done now and all good after a test drive. Forgot to take pictures, but figured I would post.

I also need to flush the steering fluid (ATF really) but did not have the correct size hose (7/32) laying around. Will get some and get that done probably in a couple weeks. Heading to Disney with the family and was excited about the drive (about 1700 miles round trip). But the wife said nay, we take her vehicle. It's much more fuel efficient and the kids say it's more comfortable, well bah humbug.
