White letters if any go in on all of my vehicles, mainly because I don't care for them but also if you rub a curb the sidewall then looks horrible with some of the lettering all scratched up, another point is it's harder to keep the tire looking clean with the white letters or sidewalls.

I've always thought Toyota trucks get a awesome vintage vibe from white letters out.

I shop tires based on whether they have white lettering so I can put them out...

White lettering in depending on color

Our Gen 5 is black, I just installed 265 70/R17 white lettering in. Had mine been a diff color, I may have installed out

Is that even a thing? Are they the standard sized 265 /65 R17?

I paid a little extra for blue.
But, I wouldn't do it again, it doesn't last that long .

No doubt. This look has to stay clean and unscuffed or it doesn't work as well.

Damn I like that! Random question: How has the plastic cladding held up? I like these early 4th gens but that plastic fades easily.

The cladding is actually in great shape.
But both the former owner and I have taken pretty good care of the car.
Whenever I clean/wax, I just go over all the plastic with Tire Wet when I'm doing the tires.
Usually lasts 2-3 weeks or so.
But, in that pic, it hadn't been cleaned in quite awhile, so that's pretty representative of what it looks like w/ no fake augmentation.
I just cleaned and waxed it yesterday, I'll shoot a pic tomorrow that shows the cladding all dressed up (for a few weeks anyway).

It is. Just went outside to make sure. They are 285/70/17.

I had similar trim on my 2002 Xterra. If you want a one-time forever solution, tape it off and paint it with DupliColor Trim & Bumper paint. Here's a post I did about it.

That came out really nice.
A Plasti-Dip was on my 'to do' radar several years ago, kind of just forgot about it.
I actually like the cladding as it sits, but blacking it out is also a possibility.
I might revisit the idea.

Raised White Letters, ftw.

One of the things I dig about my geolanders, well that and the traction...
