Nice! I hope it lasts that long, and even longer for you! Nonsense, you'll definitely want to keep it
By "it might be time", do you mean you probably plan to sell it once it passes 300k?

I don’t know for sure, I’m a few years away from having to think about it too much right now.
As much as Toyota’s keep their value, not sure how much a 20 year old, 300k+ mile 4Runner will be worth here in a few years. Maybe it’ll stick around and be purely a weekend fun rig or maybe I’ll move on entirely.
We’ll see, all I know is it’s not going anywhere anytime in the immediate future.

Oh, yeah, that's understandable. I see your concern for value, not many would just flock for a car at that age with that many miles

I have a 2003 Limited V6 with 346,300 miles. Still my daily driver. It has been on several 5,000 + miles vacations.

My 2005 V6 got as far as 227,000 before the head gaskets went, overheated also about 6 months ago so no point wasting money on the heads. Previous owner totally neglected it and I got caught up in the dealers sales pitch, my guess is previous owner traded it knowing issues were coming.
I had a 130,000 mile engine from a 2008 Tacoma put in and I have put up 800 trouble free miles so far. Mechanic suggests getting an oil change done at 1000 miles after the engine swap so that's coming soon.

Hi Gloch
I am at 494,500 miles with stock drive train. Fingers crossed I'll make it to 500,00 before the transmission gets upset. It slips just a little now and looks like it will go before the motor does.
I plan on rebuilding the transmission with the upgraded valve body for faster succinct shifting.

Nice! Have you tried fresh fluid for the slippage?

Yes I swapped in fresh Toyota WS fluid. I undid the trans cooler line and as it sucked in the bad pumped out. I did that until it was all fresh and bright red. No difference in shifting with that.
I am thinking of maybe putting some shifting additive in there but I don't believe that will solve any problems with a transmission with this many miles.

We all know V8s are million mile motors. Curious to see V6s 300k+ and how many are on original head gaskets.

Agreed, I was curious to see the high mileage 4Runners in general, but as a V6 owner myself, I really wanted to see how many high mileage V6’s are out there and who has the most miles overall.
I was hoping to see some more 300K and 400k+.
I’m at 228k on original head gaskets on my 05.

I'm at 211k, also on the original head gaskets of my 05 v6.
On my last oil analysis from Blackstone, I had 50ppm Potassium and 28ppm Sodium in the oil. Oddly, this sample decreased from the last sample enough that Blackstone labs had thought I fixed the slow leak. Those are the only 2 analysis's I've had, each at 4k. I'm at 2k on the current oil, so would be curious to see what the numbers are on the next analysis.
