Windshield glass...

Little crack developed low on the driver side, no idea how. Kinda bummed, it's the original, looks like.

Anyway, when it starts creeping out of contol, anyone have ideas on best option(s) to replace? Aftermarket, OEM, junkyard source...?? Thanks...

I got my windshield replaced through safe-lite, I forget the cost but I got an aftermarket one because it was cheaper. Does the job, at the end of the day its just glass to me... I thought it was leaking and had it reset twice before I found out the factory seam sealer underneath the cowl was broken open and leaking into the driver footwell

Thanks, bud...I've used that company before, but had my doubts about the quality with repeat cracking, but who knows...

I have had to replace my windshield twice on my 4runner...and it needs it again! I went with Technaglass the first two times (They are now Safelite) so, I think I will try another vendor.

OEM will always be the best quality, but Safelite can come to you for installation and has some cheaper aftermarket options.

check your car insurance. Mine was an online form and they covered it free at safelite.

The glass is decent, but now the inside gets hazy within two days of driving no matter what. I'm always wiping it down with a microfiber.

Had to have mine replaced for state inspection. Called around and asked for pricing. Ended up using a local company that did a great job. 250 bucks with lifetime warranty on installation. Mine was original to the vehicle and was ticked off to have to replace it...literally one small crack way down in the corner of it. I will not buy OEM glass, all of it has changed so much in the last 5 years, not to mention the last 10 years.

I wonder if you would see an improvement in the haziness if you used a glass fog prevention product or a glass sealant. They're just wipe-on treatments that might give you some relief.

Personally, I'd try the sealant. Use it on the outside too and your windshield will stay a lot cleaner and water will just bead off it.

Right.
I'm an avid rain-x fan. Will re-apply at the gas station once a month.
I keep forgetting products exist for the inside too. Someone even said shaving cream works lol.
