Thats a great price for that truck. Its time to get your hands dirty. You can buy a lot of tools with the money you can save. There are a lot of threads on how to diy it.

Plan to over pay at a dealership. You may be able to find an independent mechanic that Specializes in toyotas?

You have my truck except I have double the miles. Still running strong. I just did my second timing belt/water pump change about 20,000 miles ago.

I'm in Colorado and in the same boat... A guy here is selling an '04 4x4 V8 with 230k miles for $12,000, said he isn't willing to budge.

I'm interested to know how you found that $7,000 deal, T4R03!

I saw someone list an '07 sport edition at $12k and then *raised* the price to $14k in a few hours.

Crazyness in this market.

Prices are high all over the west. Paid $13k for my one owner 05 limited V8 with 140k miles. Felt like I got a deal since it had records and no rust. I look occasionally and there’s nothing out there in California in that range that isn’t beat to hell.

Well, I am just glad I picked up mine before everyone went crazy. $6800 for '03 Sport edition with 150k miles. It now has 230k and heading to 500k

You definitely got a great deal!! I paid $6k for my 2003 V8 4x4 Sport model with 200,000 miles. Mine came with XREAS suspension, so I junked all the shocks and springs for 2010 FJ 4x4 parts to get the lift and a better ride. Judging by the comments above you could drive it out to Colorado or California and double your money
