VSC lights and engine light

VSC Trac and VSC Off lights just came on with the engine light. Some of the forum pages have shown that it was a gas cap so since they are not to pricey i bought one. My question is, do i replace the cap and then use a handheld to erase the codes or do i need to do a zero point calibration. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The gas cap is an often overhyped solution to the CEL, you never know what it code could have triggered the light until you scan it. If the code comes right after you fill up, thats usually a gas cap, but in any other situation, its probably something else. In my case, I had a p2751 for torque converter clutching solenoid, which just turned out to be the transmission wiring harness connection. Any auto parts store should be able to scan it for free and tell you what the code is. Some aren't allowed to erase the code for liability reasons, so you can pick one up for $20-$40 and both read and erase codes yourself

so i used the handheld on it today and its throwing codes POO51 and PO455. I am assuming thats 02 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 and that may fix the other code also. Any suggestions or comments?

An o2 sensor will probably fix the p0051 assuming the o2 is getting 12volts. The p0455 is an evap leak so doubtful one will fix the other. That 2nd one could be the fuel cap.
